Hamza Bouaffia is a seasoned hotelier known for his visionary leadership and expertise in operational excellence, strategic marketing, and brand repositioning. Currently serving as General Manager at Sheraton Djibouti Hotel, a Marriott International hotel in Djibouti, Hamza brings extensive international experience and a successful track record of managing luxury hospitality properties across Morocco, the UAE, and beyond.
Most recently, Hamza led the turnaround and repositioning of a Madaef Group asset in Agadir, Morocco, overseeing strategic restructuring, cost optimization, HR initiatives, and renovation projects aligned with Accor’s Greet brand standards. His efforts culminated in the successful management contract signing with Accor and the launch of Morocco’s first Greet hotel, exemplifying his ability to drive profitable growth and operational excellence.
Prior to this, Hamza held key leadership roles with Valeria Hotels & Resorts in Marrakech, including Cluster General Manager and Resort General Manager at the prestigious Lixus Beach Resort—Morocco’s only all-inclusive resort in the north, featuring over 250 rooms, a spa, and an 18-hole golf course. He also managed the luxury Le Berbère Palace Hotel in Ouarzazate and served as General Manager at Adam Park Marrakech Hotel & Spa.
Early in his career, Hamza gained valuable experience in sales and marketing leadership at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort and MGallery Hotel Collection, further strengthening his expertise in guest experience and business development. His foundation includes formal education in hotel management from renowned institutions like Swiss Hotel Management School and Cornell University.
Beyond hospitality, Hamza contributes to his community as Vice President of the Larache Basketball Club, demonstrating his passion for leadership and team development on and off the field.
