Jorge Miguel Teixeira is a seasoned hotelier with more than 26 years of international hospitality experience, specializing in operational excellence, team development, and sustainable hotel management. He currently serves as Administrator of TD Hotels in Mozambique and General Manager for Hospitality Operations, overseeing three properties Hotel Avenida Maputo (5-star), Tivoli Maputo (3-star), and Tivoli Beira (3-star) with a combined 321 rooms.

Jorge’s leadership blends corporate strategy with hands-on management, ensuring brand alignment, guest satisfaction, and strong business performance while embedding authentic Mozambican experiences. At Hotel Avenida Maputo, he drives a guest-centric approach for business travelers and corporate events. Tivoli Maputo and Tivoli Beira benefit from his dedication to combining comfort, functionality, and local culture.

From bartender to boardroom, Jorge’s career reflects humble beginnings, determination, and resilience. He started in hospitality as a hotel barman while studying, earning two master’s degrees Hotel Management and Applied Languages and a major in Administration, before becoming General Manager at just 23 years old at Hotel Porto Antigo in Portugal’s Douro Valley. At 25, he led the opening of Hotel Minho in Portugal, setting the stage for a global career. He later served as Cluster General Manager for AccorHotels in Angola, overseeing Ibis Styles and Grand Mercure, and as General Manager for Montebelo Hotels & Resorts in Portugal and Mozambique, before spearheading the Yona Hotels project in Angola. He also holds a Specialist General Manager certification from the Portuguese Hotel Managers Association. From his early days, Jorge has nurtured a passion for classroom teaching, sharing industry knowledge and mentoring future hospitality leaders.

Now nearing completion of his Executive MBA at Les Roches, Jorge has developed a keen interest in studying the Middle East’s luxury hospitality sector, a focus that signals his enthusiasm for learning more about this multicultural, high-end, and dynamic market. He lives by the philosophy that “If you take care of your people, your people will take care of your customers, and your business will take care of itself,” echoing the wisdom of JW Marriott.
